What it Takes to Build a Precision Tennis Court
Building a precision tennis court is a challenge because of the exacting requirements neccessary for their construction. In tennis court construction, tolerances must be maintained to within 7/8", (the thickness of a nickel) in order to ensure a smooth and properly level playing surface and still allow adequate slope for drainage. This is an exacting process which includes grading the sub-grade earth to absolute zero level, then applying a six inch layer of 3/4" maximum road base gravel and cover of two separate layers of 1/2" asphalt and a surface finish coat.
Elam Construction, Inc. is a proud sponsor of the Elam Classic and builder of precision tennis courts.
